Founder at Bolgheri Wine Tours

I’m Francesca and I believe WINE IS SHARING.

I was born and raised in Tuscany surrounded by wonderful local food and wines. My first college Degree in English Translations and Interpreting brought me to the US. After living in Florida for several years, where I obtained an AS Degree in Business Administration, I decided to return to my roots and moved to Bolgheri where I restored an old farmhouse with my husband.

Wine has always been part of my life.

My grandfather was a farmer and used to make his own wine with the help of the family. I have grown up being a wine enthusiast.

I have obtained a Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits, WSET, a highly recognized international certification and I’m currently studying for a Level 3 Award certification.

I would love to plan and accompany you on the tours, while enjoying fantastic food and wine, share with you some tips about how we live over here. And, of course, discover the vineyards where SuperTuscan wines were born! Wine is sharing as this is one of the many gifts in life to get to know a place, its culture and its people.

There isn’t any better way to discover our amazing Tuscany.

Margarethe

Hi!

I’m Margarethe, I’m Italian with Brazilian/ Norwegian roots and I grew up in San Paolo/Brazil.

Thanks to my origins and a very open-minded family, I’ve spent my life traveling extensively and in the 90s I was a student in the United States. Later, I graduated in Brazil and soon started working for the most popular Wine Importer of South America at that time.

This was such an intense period and I learned a lot about wines, wineries, winemakers and had the opportunity to travel around the world from Asia to North America and meet some of the most iconic wine producers of the international wine scene.

In 2000 I decided to embrace a radical life change. As a matter of fact, I had always wanted to live in Italy, my dream wine country, so I quit the job in San Paolo and flew to Tuscany. Once in Siena, I got my Degree in Political Science while working for a winery in the heart of Chianti Classico.

From that moment on, I have been working for several Fine Wineries as Export and Sales Manager; I have become a certified Sommelier by the Italian Sommelier Association and sip after sip, I have arrived in Bolgheri where I have never felt so lucky to live the Italian dolce vita kind of life!

In Italy, you can always find a good reason to open and share a bottle of wine, you can appreciate the conviviality of food and its people as well as the beauty of the landscape. These are everyday little treasures, which make me call this country home.
