Foi fascinante perceber como Bolgheri consegue unir o clássico e o inovador de forma tão harmônica. Degustar vinhos de diferentes estilos, comparando aromas e texturas, me fez compreender o porquê de Bolgheri ser uma das regiões mais prestigiadas da Toscana.

Entre uma taça e outra, veio o almoço, e que almoço! Servido em um cenário bucólico, cercado por vinhas e oliveiras, foi uma verdadeira celebração dos sentidos. Pratos típicos da culinária toscana, preparados com ingredientes frescos e acompanhados, é claro, por vinhos locais cuidadosamente harmonizados. Cada taça parecia ter sido pensada para realçar o sabor dos vinhos — e cada gole, para valorizar a comida. A combinação perfeita.

O que mais me impressionou foi o profissionalismo e a simpatia da equipe da Bolgheri Wine Tours. Eles não apenas conduzem uma visita, mas proporcionam uma verdadeira vivência. We were highly recommended to Bolgheri wine tours by friends who used their services last year…and we have to say…Margarethe delivered a first class experience from initial contact, winery and lunch selections and the 2 day visits! She, accompanied by her professional driver Max… gave us the vip treatment. While Bolgheri is magnificent… its experience is truly elevated by the passionate and knowledgeable ambassador role Margarethe provided… she further extended to her time to reserve wineries and restaurants for our own visits beyond what was expected. Our trip was fantastic and memorable!

A perfect day with perfect wine in one of the best region in the world. Totaly objective of course. I would say that everything was great, from the first contact to the last wineglass. Our full-day wine tour through Bolgheri was nothing short of incredible. We visited three iconic wineries, each offering world-class wines, breathtaking views, and a deep connection to the region’s rich winemaking heritage.

What truly made the day unforgettable was our guide, Margharete. She was warm, engaging, and impressively knowledgeable — bringing the history and character of Bolgheri to life with every stop. Her passion for the region was contagious, and she made sure every moment was enjoyable and personal.

We laughed, we learned, we sipped amazing wine — it was a perfect day from start to finish. If you’re in Tuscany, this tour is an absolute must!

We had an unbelievable day with Bolgheri Wine Tours. My wife and I are relative novices when it comes to wine, but we learned so much spending the day with our guide, Margarethe. She was so kind and so knowledgeable. We genuinely enjoyed spending time with her and our driver. The company booked us two wonderful tours and took us to a great spot for lunch (one of the best meals we had on our entire trip to Italy). My wife said this was the best day of the entire trip and I agreed. Everything was professional, organized, and just really fun. I can't recommend them enough.

A 100-Point Gem

We gave out many ratings over a fantastic week of wine tasting in Tuscany. However, we only gave one five-star review and this is it - Margarethe and Francesca at Bolgheri Wine Tours. Grazie.

From the moment we reached out, they were amazing—wielding local knowledge, kindly nodding when we kept saying Ornellaia and Sassicaia (like apparently almost everyone else), and had great recommendations across-the-board we well as an uncanny ability to respond promptly to emails and WhatsApp messages.

A few lessons learned:

1. Listen to them. While no one will ever say tasting the biggest names in Bolgheri is a bad idea, their additional recommendations were amazing.
2. Seriously, listen to them. See item 1 above.
3. They are super nice, wonderfully helpful and just good people. They were incredibly flexible and gracious with their time – please don’t be the pains we were! And when a last-minute conflict came up, they adjusted seamlessly and graciously to ensure we had a phenomenal experience.

More specifically, they curated a perfect day and a half through Bolgheri: stunning wineries, incredible wines, amazing restaurants (including a historical enoteca), and people who genuinely love what they do (including us by the end of glass number… well, who’s counting?). Logistically, the timing, reservations, driving (Christian is great), wine shipping arrangements, etc. were all super smooth. And the one day we had lunch in town with Francesca, it was like being with a rock star – everyone knew her and made a point to stop and say hello.

If you’re looking for a day in Bolgheri [the best wine region in the world] that’s stress-free, unforgettable, and full of joy (and, yes, wine), stop scrolling and just book them. Seriously.

Francesca is the go-to expert for Bolgheri. Had a very nice, relaxed day with two visits to wineries and tastings and a delicious lunch. Highly recommend to go with somebody like Francesca as you will learn and take so much more with you from the day.

AWESOME option for tourists! Francesca is incredibly informative and passionate about everything from the local history and culture (she’s a native) to the scientific intricacies of winemaking. I had just attended a tasting of Tuscany Sangiovese wines at home in the US two weeks before our visit.

A great tour! This is a great tour not to be missed if you are in Bolgheri! We booked this tour because we wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle of tourists, visit typical Tuscan villages and drink some of the finest wines of the world from Bolgheri. And we dii it all! Francesca is a great host and we really recommend to get in touch with her to have a great experience.

She is really prepared, she knows the whole area well, and she took us to renowned wineries, organic and biodynamic cellars that respect the territory, fabulous private tastings, and she also led us to taste excellent wine for dinner and lunch, in restaurants with breathtaking views for every palate and wallet. We had an amazing tour with Francesca from Bolgheri Wine Tours! We had only a short weekend to visit Tuscany, and left feeling we had seen the best part of what Tuscany has to offer. We learned so much from Francesca and about the unique winemaking in Bolgheri. She is incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. We were treated to a wonderful day out with Francesca Becucci in Bolgheri visiting three wineries where we gained a good understanding of the development of the interesting wines from this region. Francesca speaks beautiful English and she knows the culture and history of the region very well. We were collected from our B&B in a clean and comfortable vehicle on time and at the agreed pickup point.
We began our tour with a walk around one of the leading wineries followed by a tasting of their exceptional wines. Serious wines indeed...
Our next visit took us to an interesting organic (almost biodynamic) winery nestled in the mountains outside of Bolgheri . Very different but at the same time very interesting. Our visit there included a tasty lunch made by our host (also the winemaker) together with a tasting of their wines.
The final visit for the day took us to one of the well known wineries where quality wines are made in larger volumes. A short tour of the facility was followed by a tasting and a discussion of the wines.
Lots of additional information was provided by Francesca making the tour really special.

I highly recommend hiring Francesca to have a unique and magical Tuscany, wine tasting experience! She pays attention to detail and makes sure you have a special experience, unique to your personality and interests! It is like having a friend who really cares and is an expert in the wine business share with you the secrets of Tuscany Wine and Olive Oil!

She picked us up at our B&B and drove us through the countryside, teaching us all about the region’s rich history and agriculture. At the winery, we learned about the entire wine making process and even met the owner, learning all about his journey in the Tuscanny wine business. The tasting was fantastic and eye opening and as an added touch, Francesca showed us the beautiful, quaint town of Bolgheri before dropping us off back at our B and B. I am so grateful to Francesca for her attention to detail and making sure we had a unique and magical experience!

During our stay in Italy, we had the chance to experience a guided wine tour with Bolgheri Wine Tours lead by Francesca who is from Bolgheri and is currently living there.

The short version: A wine tour with Bolgheri Wine Tours is a must do when you are in Tuscany, Italy – Incredible experience lead by a well-educated professional who knows history, culture and of course the wine.

The longer version: Bolgheri Wine Tours offers private tours for groups of minimum two, which we as “first timers” enjoyed a lot. The tour include history about production, the wineries, the town and how Bolgheri made their way onto the wine world map. During our day we visited two different wineries whereof one of them was the 5th biggest in the Bolgheri district, a winery which wines we have already seen on multiple winecards! Tastings, production, history etc. was all on set – Not a finger to set on the tour or the wineries which we enjoyable visited!

Francesca speaks fluently English and haven taken several educations wherefore she for foreign tourist is our opinion is the best choice for a guided tour in Bolgheri.

Our morning started with Francesca picking us up at our B&B. As she drove us through the countryside, she spoke about the region’s rich history and agriculture. Her English is excellent. Traveling on the winding, cypress-tree-lined roads felt like a movie in the making - you see, feel, hear and know you are in a very special place. At the winery, we learned about the entire wine making process. Every question I had was answered. My favorite part of the winery tour itself was learning about the details: seasonal timing, impact of weather, equipment, and grape blending to make the various wines. The tasting was fantastic too. Before Francesca dropped us off at our B&B, we toured the beautiful, quaint town of Bolgheri. I am grateful to Francesca for her time and dedication. This experience would not have been the same without her. Thank you Francesca!

Best Way to Taste Local Wines and Learn the History and Culture in this Wine Region.
If you have a passion for wine, history and culture, I recommend spending a day with Francesca, founder of Bolgheri Wine Tours.

There are hundreds of wineries and restaurants in this beautiful area of Tuscany. Left to our own research, it was difficult to choose where to go during our stay as the choices are overwhelming and span across a mountain.

Francesca picked us up at our hotel and we proceeded to have one of our most treasured days in this beautiful part of the world. Her English is impeccable and her colleagues and connections are valuable when visiting. After discussing our likes, etc. with Francesca in advance of our visit, she had a perfect day planned for us. We toured a more mature family winery first and were treated like royalty. Next, Francesca planned a beautiful lunch for us, based on what we shared as preferences. We enjoyed her company so much we insisted she join as our guest and we had a perfect meal and another warm reception. We went to a second winery, this one 100% biodynamic and were once again blown away by the reception and delicious wine. Finally, we toured the village and shopped, had a coffee and were returned to our hotel. We feel as if we made a friend during out time together; this doesn’t typically happen during a tour.
